Juneau, June 8, 2007 – Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority was informed today that it will be loosing one of its valued team members at the end of the month. Judith Mason, Communications Officer for the Administration Department tendered her resignation today so that she may join her husband in Kona Hawaii who is involved in an extensive construction project as a heavy equipment operator. Judy has been with the Housing Authority for over 4 years currently as a Communications Specialist and 6 years before serving as a Secretary. She is an extremely talented graphic designer and page illustrator working extensively with Adobe PhotoShop, PageMaker and In Design. She also acts as the liaison between our partners, Board of Commissioners and clients through her development of publications and articles and coordinating project driven public events.
Judy has been a strong participant in our fund raising events and has a mean touch in the kitchen as well. From food fundraisers to health/safety awareness programs, she has remained active both in and out of work. Raising three daughters and two sons as well, she also volunteers her time as an assistant coach for softball and pitching camp as her youngest daughter plays for the Midnight Suns, a Juneau all-year softball team comprising the best players in its league. Born and raised here, Judy has been a long time resident of Juneau and a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School.
While she does eventually have plans to return to her extended family in Juneau, she will enjoy the warmth and sunny beaches of Kona Hawaii and give herself time to spend with family and reflect on life. We will miss her tremendously and struggle through the changes that will undoubtedly come with her absence. From all of the staff and friends at Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, we will miss you.
