At Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, providing affordable housing opportunities and solutions is our mission. Last year alone, we invested $1.24 Million to repair Native-owned homes under tribally-sponsored NAHASDA-funded home repair programs; repaired 206 homes under tribally-sponsored NAHASDA-funded home repair programs in 10 different communities; employed 64 local workers to perform NAHASDA-funded home repairs; and invested $1.06 Million to renovate, repair or modernize rental and home buyer units that Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority owns and operates throughout Southeast Alaska.

Our long time Ax Hidi continues to provide home improvement loans with substantially lower interest rates for their qualified home owners that seek to improve aspects of their homes.

NAHASDA Repairs

The NAHASDA Crews continue to repair projects in Juneau and Angoon. Repairs are being based on emergency, health and safety, and energy efficiency. The repair project in Juneau is a forgivable loan program with a repayment plan scheduled up to a five-year period of forgiveness. The Angoon program is a grant program (fully funded), unless the property is sold or transferred.

The NAHASDA Crews have also completed their training. UAS Cold Climate Construction Technology and Tlingit and Haida Vocational Technology recently conducted construction training in Angoon. Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority is hoping to provide training in all Southeast Communities.
