Eligibility

What is Eligibility?

At Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, our programs come with defined and concise program eligibility requirements. While each program's requirements may differ, there is often commonalities in terms of certain kinds of information we require. It is important that you read the eligibility requirements of every program that you are interested in applying for. At the time of application review, you will need to provide proof of eligibility in order to avoid prolonged application process time or even disqualification.

Eligibility requirements set and dicatate the standards of qualifying all applicants to a program. Often times these are areas such as ethnicity, income of fhe family, community location, health & safety, emergency and energy efficiency requirements. Many of our programs have eligibility requirements that are not necessarily set by us at Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority but rather funding and program sources such as the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC). We are able to assist you in determining these eligibility requirement and understanding what, and why they exist. Many times it is the requirements themselves that define the program. The program is established based on the needs of that community or region.
