THRHA Online Privacy Policy

Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority is an organization dedicated to recognizing and protecting an individual's right to privacy and is strongly committed to ensuring safeguards that protect you and any information you provide via our web site. Depending on the information you provide and the request for service or application to a program with Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, we may share certain information with the partners affiliated or directly involved with our organization that may be required by law. We will not however, share any information with anyone outside of our organization in any way including third-party mailling lists, advertising, solicitations or any content defining spam. This also extends to any sign up of our publications including newsletters, reports, program documentation and any forms submitted via our website. The Privacy Statement follows the guidelines set by the Online Privacy Alliance and is in accordance with international data-protection legislation. Children's Privacy Policy

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and Rule apply to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. The Act and Rule also cover other types of information -- for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms -- when they are tied to individually identifiable information. THRHA will not willingly or openly collect or distribute information or perform monetary transactions with children under the age of 13 in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. While this act is intended to apply to web sites and online services used for commercial purposes (which this organization is not), in keeping with the intent and purpose of that protection act, THRHA may share personal information in the form of a name, address, phone number, or email address with another agency for the sole purpose of answering the child's inquiry or forwarding their inquiry, but will not make the information publicly available in any format. Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority's web site will continue to develop and offer a variety of educational tools about housing as well as ongoing information about our programs, doing business with us, various publications, current events, news topics and even informational gather polls. While there will be specific areas to our website that are secure to our current clients; partners; and tribal members; any general area of our website is available for your private use without obligation. Any information you provide in the general areas is voluntary but is still protected by our Online Privacy Policy. When a visitor provides any type of identifiable information, we will use it solely for the purposes for which it was provided.

Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority's web site will also offer secure areas that provide specific and private information to our clients, partners or Tribal Members. Any information provided, displayed or altered in these areas is held strictly confidential and is information specific to you. As such, you will be provided specific links, User Name, Password and member information that will be required everytime you attempt to access a secured area of our site. Again, your information is covered under our Online Privacy Policy which adheres to Federal, State & Local policies dealing with the Privacy Act.
