Welcome to the Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority vacancy listings for prospective home buyers and renters. We proud to announce the deployment of SeaMLiS, our Southeast Alaska Multiple Listings Service which is designed to offer you searching capabilities on our vacancies or available units. Vacancies can include rentals, lease/purchase, and homes for sale as well as transitional housing. You can then view the details of your search including information on the vacancy ranging from number of bedrooms and bathrooms to heating source and subsidy program affiliation.

Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority has the following rental vacancies which are open to all regardless of race.

Timber Manor (in the valley across Mendenhall River Elementary School)
(2) 2 Bedroom 1 bathroom quiet, clean units, close to bus line, include dishwasher, garbage disposal, newer appliances, mini blinds. We have upstairs and downstairs apartments available. Coin operated washers and dryers in each building. Monthly rental amount is $900.00 plus electricity (average cost $87.87 High $102.72, Low $57.73) $500.00 security deposit. We require a 12 month lease. No pets. Applicants must meet admissions criteria. We accept section 8 vouchers.

Sea Breeze-10-plex (located in Douglas above Great Western Apartments)
(2) 2 Bedroom 1 bathroom, quiet, clean townhouse style apartments; includes dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer and dryer, new appliances, beautiful channel view from upper deck.
Monthly rental is $900.00 plus electricity (average $83.74 High $157.58, Low $33.41)
$500.00 security deposit. We require a 12 month lease. No pets. Applicants must meet admissions criteria. We accept section 8 vouchers.

HOP & HOAP

THRHA purchased Glacier Village Subdivision in 2000. The subdivision is located off of Valley Boulevard in Juneau’s Mendenhall Valley. The first phase of 25 single-family homes was completed in June of 2003. Recognizing the increasing severity of demand for affordable housing in the community the THRHA continued with the development of Phase II, even without this vital funding source, in order to stay on schedule. This also makes the project unique since 25 families will be able to move into new homes within five months of the award of funding estimated as early as July 2004.

“While there is currently a serious shortage of affordable homes in Juneau, it will pale in comparison if the Kensington mine begins development. We are also proud of the innovative and unique design of this program as it provides significant quality and incentives to renters including homeownership,” said THRHA executive director Dr. Blake Y. Kazama. “The homes are available to all residents of Juneau, regardless of race. With projects like this, THRHA is able to effectively assist entire communities while becoming more self-sufficient. Low Income Rentals!

The HOME Opportunity Program or HOP is now going full steam ahead this spring. The HOME Opportunity Program provides qualified low-income families (both native and non-native) with down payment and closing cost assistance on the purchase of their home here in Southeast Alaska. As an administrator of this program, THRHA has linked up with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) to offer this zero-interest, forgivable HOP loan to any qualified Southeast Alaska community resident...
