Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority's Housing Management Team is comprised of talented, dedicated and effficient staff providing support for our homebuyers and tenants in thirteen different communties throughout Southeast Alaska. We manage unit occupancy, rent and lease payments and work closely with Development, Construction & Maintenance Department in providing care and support for our tenants. Our Rental Program Coordinator Kari Metz, supervises the entire rental program and oversees the annual recertification process. She ensures that any unit vacancies are filled with clients from our waiting list and conducts the collections of any deliquent accounts. Our Housing Officer Donna Martin and Occupancy Specialist Jerry Bennett administer and manage the various homebuyer programs such as (NMH) New Mutual Help and (HOAP) Housing Opportunity Assistance Program to clients within Southeast Alaska. Their comprehensive responsibilities take the client from the initial application process through the annual recertification. Our Rental Program Assistant Valerie Gamble-Houston supervises new applicants and provides supplemental support to clients who are struggling to meet the program requirements. She assists applicants with acquiring othe resources to help offset any additional needs in order to comply with the program they would qualify for. Our Rental Program Assistant Joe Yaletchko supervises the Annual Recertification process from initial questionnaire to authenticating and compiling all of the information provided in a time sensitive manner. He provides the recertification process for both family rentals and elderly rentals as well. Our Tax Credit Specialist Robert Cesar, supervises the strict guidelins of the IRS-based Tax Credit Program which allows no margin for error in its program compliancy. Robert takes client from initial application stages to collection of monthly payments and ensures compliancy to all aspects of this program.
Our Fireweed Manager Lorilyn Swanson, oversees all aspects of the "independent living for seniors" facility which provides 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and studio type rentals to the elderly. She assists the senior clients from initial application, monthly rentals, and overall building operations. Our Fireweed Maintenance Specialist Mike Hoyle oversees the general and preventative maintenance as well as major remodeling and repairs.
Housing Management play the key role in administration between tenants/homebuyers and our housing and housing programs.
