As the Tax Credit (LITC) Program Specialist, I’m a responsible for overseeing the program itself while working closely with both the Housing Manager and V/P of Business and Economic Development to ensure that all program guidelines, policies and procedures have been met. With assistance from the Tax Credit Assistant, I am ∙ Responsible for maintenance of LITC waiting lists and applicant/tenant files ensuring that unit vacancies are filled. I am also responsible for community outreach to ensure notice of program(s) to potential applicants, determine the initial eligibility of each applicant and continued program eligibility of existing clients, and ensure that annual recertification are conducted to determine monthly payments which are analyzed and revised on an annual basis. I’m also responsible for the development, updating and maintenance of all LITC Program policies and procedures applicable to our Tax Credit Program in accordance with the appropriate HUD and AHFC guidelines, and ensure that all necessary contractual paperwork including leases, verifications and declarations are in compliance with the program requirements. I work with my assistant on all reports in reference to the program including unit status, tenant status, waiting lists, recert checklists and applicant data to ensure our compliance with the administration of the program itself. Finally, I also assist in the enforcement of the collections policy to ensure timely collecting of monthly payments, counseling for budgeting, late payment management and other supportive tasks in conjunction with the possibility of termination procedures.
